【齢草（よわいぐさ）】
【齢草（よわいぐさ）】は菊の別名【齢】とは、もともと「世這い」の音と意味から、この世に生きている間の長さや歳を表す文字だそうです。 菊は不老長寿の花 菊は別名を「翁草（おきなぐさ）」「齢草（よわいぐさ）」「千代見草」などといい、古くから不老長寿の薬効があるとされてきた。中国では、周の穆王の童（後の彭祖）が菊から落ちた露の水を飲み、不老不死になったという話がある。「菊花の宴」において、菊の花そのものではなく、宿った露や菊を浸した酒が重要視されたのはこのためである。ちなみに、能の曲目「菊慈童（きくじどう）」は、魏の文帝の命により霊水の源を求めて山に入った一行が、この穆王の童（彭祖）に出会い、菊の葉から滴り落ちた水こそが霊水であると教えられる、という話である。 不老長寿の花、菊・・・、【齢草】と呼ぶよりも【千代見草】の方が似合ってますかね？＾＾； See the full...
